Choose the period you can actually evidence.
Your bills, your production record and this period must all describe the same span of time. Carbon intensity is emissions ÷ production — if the bills cover two months and the production figure covers a year, the result is not an intensity and a verifier will reject it.
Have twelve monthly bills? Use the full year. This is what EU buyers prefer.
Only have one month? Set the period to that one month. A short, fully-evidenced period is stronger than a long, half-evidenced one.
Don't set a year and upload three months of bills. We check, and the category will not reach evidence-matched.
Bills are only counted for the days they actually cover. A bill from outside this period contributes nothing, however genuine it is.

Biomass is treated as biogenic. Under ISO 14064-1 and the GHG Protocol, CO₂ from sustainably sourced biomass is reported separately from the fossil total and is not added to your Scope 1 figure. Only the non-CO₂ residual (CH₄ and N₂O, the default factor above) counts toward Scope 1. If you burn rice husk, bagasse or wood, enter it here — leaving it out understates your energy profile and a verifier will ask about it.

Where to find your water figure.
Use the metered volume in m³ for the same period as your energy bills, from your water bill, your own meter readings, or your tanker delivery log (tankers: number of loads × capacity in m³).
Billed a flat rate, with no volume on the bill? Leave this blank and tick the box below. The report will state “Not tracked” for water rather than show an estimate. Buyers accept a stated gap; they do not accept a number that turns out to be guessed.
Same period as your energy bills. Leave blank if you have no metered figure.

Accepted: PDF, JPG, PNG (max 10MB each). Missing documents show as "Pending" in the report.
Two things that decide whether your evidence verifies.
1. The photo must be sharp. We read the consumption figure directly off the document. A blurred or dark photo cannot be read and the category will stay unverified. Lay the bill flat, use good light, hold the camera parallel and fill the frame. A PDF downloaded from your utility's portal is always better than a photo — use one if you have it. We check sharpness as you upload and will warn you.
Uploaded your bills already? Let the system read the figures off them instead of typing them in.
Every figure it fills in is marked “read from your document — check this”. Check each against the bill and correct anything wrong. A figure we read for you is not independently verified, because it came from the same document we would otherwise check it against — the report says so, and says it differently for any figure you enter or correct yourself.
Haven’t got your bills to hand? Try it with three real Pakistani utility bills — genuine scans, personal details erased.
One of the three is a water bill that states charges but no volume. The system refuses to give a figure for it, and says why. That refusal is deliberate — a number we cannot support is worth less than no number at all.
2. More than one meter? Upload every bill, and enter the combined total. Many sites have separate connections per floor, block or shift. Upload all of them into the same box — we add them together — and make sure the figure you typed above is the sum for the period, not one connection. Uploading two bills but entering one meter's reading is the most common reason a category fails to match.
